I have new pictures to share of my latest quilt. I will be finishing up the pattern for this quilt soon and the original quilt itself will be up for sale in my Etsy shop very soon (just need to check final measurements). This is my own design and it's called "Dodge".
This was made from a charm pack of a fabric line from Moda called Comma.
I didn't drop off the face of the planet. I'm still here, quilting when I have a spare second, which doesn't come easy these days.

Between a full time job, a full time family, and learning how to say 'no' to taking on too much it's hard to find time to quilt, but I really need to. It's therapy for me. From designing quilts to fabric shopping to sewing them together it really is enjoyable and it's the "ME" time I really need.
SO, with all that, I have finally finished the next quilt that I'll be selling in the Etsy shop.
A dear friend of mine has offered to photograph this quilt and I can't wait to see how beautiful she makes it look with her mad photography skills. I also just think it's pretty cool to be able to say "the quilt is with my quilt photographer right now." HA! I love pretending to be so professional.

I pieced this quilt at the last quilt retreat I was at and finally finished quilting it the other day when I was hope with a sick little one. The charm pack used is Comma by Moda. The pattern is my own and is called "Dodge". I will be releasing it as a pattern eventually, again when I have some spare time, ha!

Speaking of patterns, I'm working on my first pattern now which will be "Square Avenue" and hope to have that for sale in the Etsy shop in a couple more months. "Dodge" will be released after that.
I haven't worked out all the details with those, but I'm hoping to have offered for digital download as a PDF OR ordering a printed pattern through the mail.

More updates to come soon!
Here is a peek at "Dodge".
Most of the fabrics are from the Moda French General line, but there are a couple others I mixed in that seemed to blend with the Moda line. The pattern is "Come What May" by Jaybird Quilts.
I love when I buy fabrics on separate occasions that accidentally go together. The local JoAnn's Fabric store here is moving locations and they are liquidating all of their remaining stock. I stopped by to see if any higher quality fabric was left that I could get on the cheap and found this cute chick pattern fabric.

Fast forward to last week, I wanted to try a new thread I had heard good things about from Connectingthreads.com and while I was there picked up a couple solid fabrics.

While getting started on a quilted table runner I looked over and saw these fabrics thrown into a pile.

Well, it's a dreary, drizzly and damp kind of day here in Nebraska so I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at the first Emily Ann Quilt that will be up for sale in the Etsy shop. Enjoy!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3532536927507148212.post-44196206419318996602013-04-29T17:15:00.000-05:002013-04-29T17:15:22.928-05:00Spring is here! but... wait... snow?
Spring has sprung here in Nebraska, but in good old Nebraska style there is now snow in the forecast for the next couple of days. So, look at my pretty flowers quick, because I have a feeling they won't be in such good shape after the next few days.
P.S. A sneak peak of my first quilt that will be up for sale in the Emily Ann Quilts Etsy shop (not open yet) is coming soon!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3532536927507148212.post-17373056722034537362013-03-16T00:18:00.000-05:002013-03-16T00:18:16.850-05:00Quilting late into the night ... zzzzzzzzAs usual I started a new quilting project tonight and stayed up late to finish. I'm working on perfecting a quilted handbag that will be for sale on the future EmilyAnnQuilts Etsy site. I love the way it turned out and once I tweak it a bit I will show you guys some pictures, but for now, it's time for bed. Goodnight!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3532536927507148212.post-69406417043320500092013-03-13T17:24:00.002-05:002013-03-13T17:24:38.587-05:00LOVE this idea to make quilt labels... think this might be my new project to tackle with the new "Emily Ann Quilts" logo.
They had been begging to share a room for awhile. That meant there was an extra little room in the house with no use. My husband was gracious enough to 'donate' the room to my new hobby and now it's my own sewing room! It has saved soooo much time not having to set up and take everything down each time I wanted to work on my quilts.
I inherited my Great Grandmothers sewing machine and cabinet. These were items that were in the cabinet.
The final touch to my sewing room was this wall vinyl. I made sure it was right in front of my work space in full view!
My name is Emily and I am new to the world of quilting. I have a busy life, but somehow I have fit in a bit of time for myself to learn to quilt and would like to share all of that with you. In the near future I will start selling quilts and quilted "things" on an Etsy shop. Enjoy!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
