New Emily Ann Quilts T-Shirts!

I have teamed up with Teespring to offer some super cute Emily Ann Quilts t-shirts.

Teespring basically helps you gain cheap prices in numbers.  We only need 30 people to order a shirt for them to print out shirts at a great price ($16).

Also, please note these are regular t-shirt sizes, NOT those crazy small fitted women's sizes...you can thank me later when you receive your shirt and you can still breathe.  ;)

Here's where you can get YOUR shirt!

Chevron Pillow-Sneak Peek

It's a beautiful day here in the heartland today! Unfortunately I've caught a nasty cold and have been inside for two days. Lots of napping and lots of quilting time! Here's what I've been working on today...

Molly's Quilt

This is a quilt I made for my youngest Daughter, Molly.  she was too young to be involved with picking the fabric so yours truly got to pick everything out.  Most of the fabrics are from the Moda French General line, but there are a couple others I mixed in that seemed to blend with the Moda line.  The pattern is "Come What May" by Jaybird Quilts.

If only Photoshop had a "Mow the lawn" filter...this would be perfect!

I added rick rack around the binding and loved how it turned out!

After taking pictures of this quilt I realized Molly had spilled chocolate
milk all over it, so if you spot something...
It's a good thing homemade quilts can stand up to lots of washing!

Molly's quilt is a twin sized quilt measuring approx. 64" x 80"

The quilting I did on this was a loopy loop sort of pattern.  I'm sure there's a technical word for this type
of quilting that sounds more professional than loopy loop, but that's what we're gonna call it for now.

Love when this happens...

I love when I buy fabrics on separate occasions that accidentally go together.  The local JoAnn's Fabric store here is moving locations and they are liquidating all of their remaining stock.  I stopped by to see if any higher quality fabric was left that I could get on the cheap and found this cute chick pattern fabric.
Fast forward to last week, I wanted to try a new thread I had heard good things about from Connectingthreads.com  and while I was there picked up a couple solid fabrics.

While getting started on a quilted table runner I looked over and saw these fabrics thrown into a pile.

What do you think?

Sneak Peak!

Well, it's a dreary, drizzly and damp kind of day here in Nebraska so I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at the first Emily Ann Quilt that will be up for sale in the Etsy shop.  Enjoy!

Spring is here! but... wait... snow?

Spring has sprung here in Nebraska, but in good old Nebraska style there is now snow in the forecast for the next couple of days. So, look at my pretty flowers quick, because I have a feeling they won't be in such good shape after the next few days. P.S. A sneak peak of my first quilt that will be up for sale in the Emily Ann Quilts Etsy shop (not open yet) is coming soon!

Quilting late into the night ... zzzzzzzz

As usual I started a new quilting project tonight and stayed up late to finish. I'm working on perfecting a quilted handbag that will be for sale on the future EmilyAnnQuilts Etsy site. I love the way it turned out and once I tweak it a bit I will show you guys some pictures, but for now, it's time for bed. Goodnight!

LOVE this idea to make quilt labels... think this might be my new project to tackle with the new "Emily Ann Quilts" logo.

My sewing room

About 6 months ago we decided to move our two girls into the same room and get a bunk bed for them to share.  They had been begging to share a room for awhile.  That meant there was an extra little room in the house with no use.  My husband was gracious enough to 'donate' the room to my new hobby and now it's my own sewing room!  It has saved soooo much time not having to set up and take everything down each time I wanted to work on my quilts.

LOVE this little guy to organize my rulers!

I inherited my Great Grandmothers sewing machine and cabinet.  These were items that were in the cabinet.

The final touch to my sewing room was this wall vinyl.  I made sure it was right in front of my work space in full view!

Welcome to Emily Ann Quilts!

Hi all!  My name is Emily and I am new to the world of quilting.  I have a busy life, but somehow I have fit in a bit of time for myself to learn to quilt and would like to share all of that with you. In the near future I will start selling quilts and quilted "things" on an Etsy shop.  Enjoy!
